Spokesman says Aeroflot cancels all purchases except crucial

MOSCOW, Apr 23 (PRIME) -- Russia's largest airline Aeroflot cancelled all purchases except those directly connected with operations and safety as part of its cost cutting program, spokesman for the company Mikhail Dyomin told reporters on Thursday.

"We forewent all types of purchases not connected directly to our operations, cost optimization and security. All car purchases were cancelled, all media contracts and advertisements in mass media were cancelled," Dyomin said.

The executives of the company have cut their salaries by 40% since April 1, Dyomin also said.
